Sutta v/s. Kriya

I have often observed the tendencies of the smokers in my hostel. What i was astonished to see was that every smoker invites all other smokers around whenever he wishes to go down to the mess for smoking cigarettes. Most of them usually smoke in group, as if it gives them a greater high when done in group...

Now group smoking reminds me of Group Kriya, that we(YES!+ gang of ISM) do in the Yoga Centre everyday. Not that both give the same experience. The mental state achieved after Sudershan Kriya can never be matched even with smoking 100 cigarettes continuously.

What really bothers me is the fact that smoking has started being considered a "cool" thing to do. Nobody hesitates or feels shy in asking people around to smoke. But this is not the case with Kriya. Whenever someone sitting with friends leaves for doing kriya, he usually apologetically says, "Main na zara kriya kar ke aata hun", as if he's committing a crime by doing something related to meditation.

This mental attitude of the "good" people is the biggest problem of the world today. "Good" people, though they comprise 99.99% of the people of this world, are often heard saying, "Aajkal acche log bache hi nahi hai duniya me." I mean how can you say such a line when majority of the people in the world are good at heart. This is because "good" people always feel shy and hesitant to do "good things", they just think goody-goody and never implement something good. Whenever the time of implementation comes, they get caught up in their more important priorities like "bhaiya ki shaadi" or "taking a family member to the doctor". They are never able to take out time to do noble work from their "busy schedule" of reading newspapers, gossiping and doing "job assignments" among other things.

On the other hand, the "bad" people, lets say terrorists, are totally committed to do their destructive work. Whenever a terrorist is called for an attack, he never says ki "Mujhe bhaiya ki shaadi me jaana hai" or "Maine apni wife ko doctor ke pass le jaana hai". The bad people never leave any opportunity of doing bad work. They don't just think "bad" but also actually implement their "bad" intentions. That is why these 0.01% people of the world make us feel that the world is bad.

This mental attitude of the "good" people needs to be changed. Talking about college and kriya, when people can smoke, drink and take drugs publicly, then why should one hesitate to meditate, which is a very good thing to do and everyone, including smokers, know that. It is your own personal attitude that makes something you do cool or uncool. When you go for kriya, your attitude should be like "Main kriya karne ja rha hun. Tu bhi chal. Aankhe band karke baithiyo thodi der. Tera bhi kuch acha ho jaega!"

This is an appeal from my side to all the "good" people that please start implementing your "good" thoughts in life and don't just continue to think and never act. Because even small "actions" can make a big difference while big-big "thoughts", if not acted upon are totally useless and of no consequence.

Bye.

P.S. If you wish to learn the miraculous sudershan kriya and experience the "high" which is beyond all cigarettes and drugs, then please register yourself for the next YES!+ of ISM from 5th-11th April.
The lifetime registration fees of YES!+ is Rs.3000 which is far cheaper than smoking expenses.

In a month, a smoker usually spends about Rs. 1500 on cigarettes(average 10 cigarettes per day) and Rs. 500 on "daaru parties". This expenditure of Rs.2000 per month is reasoned to simply experience a "momentarily high" or to release "daily-life stresses".

With sudershan kriya, you get a much bigger and a permanent "high" in your mental state and of course you are also able to completely flush out all your stress and negative emotions
So which is a cheaper bet?
Rs. 3000 for lifetime good or Rs.2000 per month of no good?

  1. Nasa ,
smoking is juss not an act it's a festival and festival can't be celebrated alone.
and it's gud that people are doing kriya alone 'cause whole idea of kriya is to be alone absolute alone .
Gathering will ruin it ,like they have ruined it in past . juss be present and u will feel the festival in being alone . BE PRESENT .

  2. lolz... smoking is actually a gr8 festival, infact it is my favorite festival.

I would like to clarify to u somethin about Kriya. The idea of Kriya is not to be absolutely alone. It is about something that u would only understand after doing it yourself. For now, just know that the energy of Sudershan Kriya is far higher when it is done in group.

  5. @nasa: simply brilliant blog bro!!! though connecting it with just yes+ is not justified... feels like you are selling yes + to us.. you seriously don't need to do that... once people (which includes me as well) understand the value of meditation, serenity in this chaotic life of theirs, they will automatically join something or learn kriya in order to get that internal peace maybe for 30 min in their own room.. you might be very well remembering this proverb.." you can take a horse to water but you cannot make it drink".. i really loved the idea of encouraging people to take up kriya but why so much of emphasis on yes+,i am confused.. i want to apologize if you got offended in any manner.. anyway the blog was simply awesome!!

  6. @ nands, Thanks for appreciating...

@ anonymous, plz mention ur name. Thanks for ur compliment on my blog. And yes, i agree wid u.. i am selling YES!+ to ppl and i'm proud to do this. Coz in my opinion this is the absolutely RIGHT thing to do.
If i can encourage people around to go and watch a movie i liked, then why shouldn't i do the same for this YES!+ course, which i simply loved(and so did millions of ppl around the world)

  8. hi...
1st of all, accept my complement for this blog, that reveals the mentality of so called good and bad people .I agree with u that the environment is changed (which responsibility is of good people)that people don't shy to do bad, which basic reason is they don't get humiliated after doing bad ,and at the same time those who do good, don't get respect and support by so called good people.

  10. I respect ur knowledge obviously u know more than i do.
but i been with meditation . Its mind and beyond .
energy is concerned with mind , to be beyond u need to pass mind and for that energy is needed and u r right kriya creates this energy . It is the way of meera ,way of shri shri .

but there are other ways too , like Buddha or Shankar , these path are absolute alone and u need to kill energy .

  12. @ nakul, Thanks for ur appreciation. I respect your "slight grudge" from smoker's fraternity. I apologize if i hurt somebody's sentiments. But i'm really happy to know that u realize that meditation is a far better way of relaxation than smoking. I would advise you to try it once and i guarantee you that it will help you tremendously in quitting smoking.

  13. @Rahul, i don't know anything about these ways of Meera, Buddha, Shankar and their related energies. My knowledge is very limited about meditation.
All i know is that Sudershan Kriya gives me an immensely relaxed and calm state of mind and keeps my Happiness Quotient at a high most of the time. I would strongly recommend all my friends and acquaintances to experience this "high" atleast once in their life.
